The youth Sunday, Feb. 5th went to Olive Hill to be challenged by the First Christian Church youth to a flag football
game. In sync with the super bowl the youth went head to head against one another all in Christian love however... The
results! First Christian Church acheived 1st place, with CCC gaining bragging rights to 2nd and 3rd... Good job teams!
To God be the Glory.. Great things He has done!
The spring 2005 trip to Southeast Christian Church was a huge success! Approx 40 members from Carter
Christian Church traveled via Chartered Bus to Louisville on Sunday, March 6th following morning services. We arrived
at SCC at 3:15 pm and was greeted by a warm group of members from the church. Our group was divided into two groups
and we parted ways going on a guided tour of the buildings that make up the SCC Complex. Here are some interesting facts
about SCC Facilities:
-
They have a coffee pot that can make 5,000 cups of coffee an hour.
-
4 basketball courts, 2 racketball courts, 2 tennis courts, all indoors.
-
Their main worship center can seat 9100 people at a time. The Youth Worship Center can seat 1,000.
-
They have 177 sunday school classes for ages 2-middle school.
-
Over 25 classes for young adults.
-
Their own on-site gym.
-
A member of SCC developed a machine that can fill communion trays completely in 5 seconds!
-
They have over 2000 member volenteers!
-
and much much more.
We learned that they started with only 52 members who were dedicated to the mission of teach, baptize, teach something
they continue today.
Following our tour we left SCC grounds and went near by to dinner at a wonderful hometown buffet. After eating
we went back to SCC to view the Easter program which was amazing and words would be difficult to describe.
